The Association was formed in December 1994 as a professional association for mathematics teachers and other mathematics educators in Singapore.
What We Do
We disseminate information on current events and issues in mathematics education through conferences, workshops and seminars as well as providing forums for discussion among mathematics educators.
Our People
Our Executive Committee is made up of professionals and academics with years of industry experience in Singapore with a passion for Mathematics.
TME
TME, short for The Mathematician Educator, is our official publication which has its primary purpose to provide a forum for disciplined inquiry and discussion into mathematics education.

Excellence in Mathematics Teaching Award (EMTA)
- Nomination for the next Excellence in Mathematics Teaching Award (EMTA) will commence in 2026.

Publication
The Mathematician Educator is a peer-reviewed open access journal published by AME. All articles are freely accessible. The latest issue has been published. Read TME Volume 6, No 2.
AME Membership
- all mathematics educators, local or international are welcome
- members can attend a number of members-exclusive events
- 1 year from April to March of the following year
Professional Development Events
- December 2024 marks the 30th Anniversary of AME. To commemorate the occasion, we plan to organize a number of activities. Two workshops were organized in Oct 2025. At least two more talks will take place in 2025. Do look out for our announcements nearer the date.
- Mathematics Teachers Conference 2025 with the theme Head, Hands and Heart in Mathematics Education: Developing Critical, Adaptive and Inventive Thinking will take place on the morning of 12th Sept 2024. This will be a half-day virtual conference.
