Title. Learning Experience in Modelling of Real World Data

Abstract. In this Hands on workshop, participants will experience how hand held graphing calculators and graphing technology are used to generate learning activities for students to experiment and experience the process of mathematical modelling involving real world data. Participants will inquire, discuss and reflect on the assumptions, relevance and effectiveness of choosing appropriate mathematical function(s) and model(s) in the modelling process. In the process, they will appreciate the usefulness of technology and mathematical concepts to make sense of the world that we live in.
